Checking out Bluesky

Good to see some friends and sharp folks

But sad to see the reaction to #[0] posting an interview between RFK Jr and Assange’s father

The knee-jerk ad-hominem group hate that blinds and prevents people from talking about real issues is intense on there

I guess that’s what ā€œvibe controlā€ gets you šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Sounds like the by invite only strategy worked out well.

Bluesky doesn’t solve any of Twitter’s issues at the end of the day. Bluesky will end up building on Nostr.

Important to look at government issues as neutrally as possible.

From your assessment so far… which do you prefer? Nostr or Bluesky.

Nostr but I have not given blue sky a fair shake yet

I see… haven’t checked it out yet. But a lot of people are saying the same thing.

It appears to be a fallout shelter for the trigger happy.

It's worrying to build a small bubble of thoughts and box people in it - this tide that seems to carry people over in so much delight would waft into an impending disaster.

Knee-jerk ad-hominem group hate is your fastest route to empire, Nostr built different.

No-one should be surprised in the slightest.

Every network that has done anything was bootstrapped with some initial cohort and that cohort heavily influenced the trajectory of the platform.

Gab and Parler went to shit because they became dumping points for alt-right nonsense. Tribel the same for extreme leftoidism and you can guarantee Blue Sky will end up in the same place.

#nostr being an open protocol where users are incentivised to contribute content that others will appreciate is the only one with a chance to break out of the mould. Having Bitcoiners as early adopters means it’s more technical than other platforms but it’s full of builders and people who want to see meaningful growth.
