Yeah a lot of houses on the Gold Coast lost power yesterday. Winds were pretty strong initially.
Everyone got so freaked out. MSM was full of hyped up fear mongering.
I've just driven into the nearby town and not a single shop or petrol station was open. Even on Christmas Day there's a few shops open.
Yeah it seems to be mostly around the Gold Coast where we have seen NBN services offline. Even now the media is still reporting that things could get worse. I think the biggest risk now is probably flooding for people in lower lying areas.
Yeah these slow moving lows can drop a huge amount of rain in 1 area.
It could definitely hang around for a few days.
