That is a lot of determination; kudos to her!

I was wondering about how much people use sites like LocalHarvest, LocalHens, Barn2Door, ...

I can't see any truly public and open source databases like that. I think it would be great to build an aggregator on nostr, but also can't figure myself how to make it sustainable (someone has to keep updating the quality of the listings in the db) without making it closed source.

- Any thoughts on this?

- Is the discovery a big problem for folks i your area?

- Do small farms / homesteads actually want to be in searchable public databases like this?

There is another app to look at "Farmish"

Lots of thoughts:

1) for any farmer to be profitable I think they need to be able to reach the cities.

2) food is highly regulated so the more public you are the more eyes are on you

3) for our area FB is a good way to begin the conversation

Do you feel the same about weed farmers

Not sure i understand the question. Can you be more specific?

Should weed farmers be granted the same freedoms of advertising carefree

Should weed be legal? TBH I have never smoked weed, but I do belive there are health benefits to CBD/cannabis/etc. So I am not completely opposed to its use.

As far as I know it is legal in most states.

Weed is legal. But should weed farmers be treated the same as regular farmers or different? Whats the difference between?

Ok, got it. I don't see a difference between the two. You are a producer whether it is weed or lettuce.

What is interesting is that it is probably easier to buy weed than it is to buy raw milk.

In my state raw milk has to be labeled "for pet consumption" and you have to apply for a license in order to sell it.

Both have a stigma attached to it.

We are not producing enough volume to sell to the public. Not sure we ever will. I find individuals that are looking for what I have and will sell on a very small scale. But I do see a sort of ministry in growing densely nutritious food and having it available to people who want to buy it.

My focus is local community.

Discovery is definitely a problem for me when I am searching to buy but when I am selling, I am at a small enough scale where demand is greater than my supply with only the peer to peer marketing I do at Bitcoin meetups. It's interesting, I would like to be able to find other local producers but I myself would rather stay hidden.
