I don’t necessarily agree with everything in this thread (and that’s cool! 😜), but this comment is true for many things and it’s really sad.
It’s the same with privacy discussions as a society. Reddit has a few privacy subs where I spend my team when I’m not here. Whenever someone starts to talk about privacy the first response from normies is “what do you have to hide” or “so what Google has my location history 24/7 for the past 10 years?”. 😬
A few months ago Signal was even deemed by some to be used by “whites supremacists and bigots” because it was private yet at the same time many employers make WhatsApp a required tool for their staff. That’s fucked up.
