I guess it's part of the Bitcoin ethos, that they've spent the last decade and a half being shit on, so developed a complete immunity to all criticism whatsoever. At least the fediverse people came at it from the perspective of wanting a conversation, instead of a specific conversation, even if the protocol there is more easily abused.
