Well, at least we're all in agreement that our corners of the Internet don't mix that well. 🫂

Weak stance: they do mix well, both sides just have an unwanted content problem🫡

I don't think that's the case. It's two entire decentralized protocols which each contain various communities. Each protocol is not itself one community.

Nostr users are also utilizing the bridge 2x more than AP users are. It's benefiting y'all a lot more than us.

Good point. Just because I haven't seen anyone that's happy that the bridge exists doesn't mean those people do not exist. It means I don't follow or engage with those people. That means Nostr is growing and I'm a fan of that. 🔥

The only reason I tried Nostr was because of that bridge. I was on AP and saw posts from some bitcoiners that looked actually interesting (not just the usual, boring "bitcoin is the best" or "bitcoin is a scam" posts).

I couldn't figure out if they could see my replies. In fact, I was pretty sure they couldn't, so I joined over here.

I think it'd be great if people could just have one account (per nym) and collect with people regardless of what protocol they are using.

They doesn't mean I want to hear from everyone on every protocol. There are assholes on every system I've been on, from IRC to Matrix to AP to Nostr. I don't want to hear anything from them and I don't care if they hear me. But that is independent of the question of whether bridges are desirable.
