Onchain BTC is at 1 sat/vB, you can be sure the payment goes through...
Discussion
If using onchain to pay, then wouldn't one derive greater spending privacy from using #monero?
I thought the whole argument was, monero is unnecessary "because LN exists and is private and awesome". Then you simultaneously say, "breh but not for $600 worth that's too much."
What the actual fuck... Can we be rational for like one second here?
I've never had an issue transferring monero either on large nor small amounts but there is a cost of time.
I guess the bigger rational for LN are immediate payments for small things.
Anything bigger is certainly safer done with monero.
Or, you could use one of your coinjoined btc uxto's. Fees are at 1sat/vB.
I'm not sending my money to some shady website and cross my fingers it comes back.
Monero just send A to B.
Simple, private, trusted.
Coinjoins are not "sending money to website" lol.
Kanzan needs a better LN setup if he actually wants to pay 500k+ sats invoices, a single Olympus channel won't be enough, that's the issue.
why not?
are they not an extremely well connected node?
how much liquidity do I have to tie up in LN to be able to send 500k sats?
You should ask nostr:nprofile1qqsrf5h4ya83jk8u6t9jgc76h6kalz3plp9vusjpm2ygqgalqhxgp9gpzfmhxue69uhk7enxvd5xz6tw9ec82cspp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumrpdejqd2970s nostr:nprofile1qqszmxrnkfdl9hdxzstgf4zdt6mk4avlzemc3fvwxcatzeclalhg0uspz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqz9nhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyctwvsq32amnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd9hx7um5vyhxxcc8wtx22, i don't get it aswell. Lightning Network is a fucking mess to understand.
yeah thanks
I agree its good to ask the experts
A single chan with us should get you to 99% of the network, but liquidity is a two way street. If the receiving node isnโt well connected it can still be difficult to reach it even w the best node.
That being said the screenshot at top of the thread appears to be a sync issue. Happy to help troubleshoot. just shoot us a DM
cheers thanks
as I said
once I found the "reset yout payment routing profile" option it went through.
but I was just pressing buttons at that point.
next time I'll DM ๐
You say that payments over 150k are likely to fail and $600 is too much for LN...
You've also stated that Kanzan's very basic set-up "isn't good enough"
And you people wonder why we say monero is better...
This kind of shit is what pushes people to using custodial lightning... And at that point, just use monero IMO. How is that difficult to understand?
TBH
I don't think this is actually an issue of my setup not being good enough.
not exactly anyway
since my local client is doing the voodoo of pathfinding, its easy to confuse.
once i reset to the defaults, it was able to find a path.
it's just an awkward and not extremely well documented Rube Goldberg machine.
