The last two I've been to here in the UK have had had increasingly stressed out hosts. Expectation, validation, cost & reality seem harder and harder to marry up.

Isn't the history of "marriage" a business relationship, with hopefully some fun?
That's seems a pessimistic take I didn't have for my own in 2016. I was younger, more naive and foolish of course. Maybe it's always been this way but I don't think so. Inauthentic Insta features don't help.

Didn't believe in marriage the first time, only because of military involvement
