Lmao nostr apps also burn through my phone battery so fast.
We just about break the apps every time we hang out. No crypto talk except gifts given. ;)

I can literally watch the % go down with Damus, and Iris is even worse. Iāve never seen anything like it. I donāt understand why itās like that.
My best tip would be to get a couple of good relays. I'm gonna zap you the fee for mine (https://nostr.thesamecat.io). I would also look at filter.nostr.wine because it aggregates a bunch of other public relays, which you can then remove from your relay list.
I only have 10 relays, and I'd say it doubled my battery life on Nostr. Still tough, but not near as bad.
No dev, so could be incorrect, but 26 relays maybe too many & causing issue? #[5]ā thoughts on this? Try removing at least half your relays?
Yes, that's far too many, especially on mobile. WebSocket connections are persistent the entire time the app is open and will cause significant drain. I would cut down to a dozen or less.

If you are *ever* censored, I will personally pay your admission fee to another relay and give you admission to my own. I donāt tolerate that very well. But 8-12 should do the job nicely.
The issue is that itās not just relays, clients censor too. Like on Amethyst, if some of your follows report someone as spam, their posts will be hidden and marked as āinappropriate contentā. Thatās what ser sleepy did to me.
Hmm. I havent checked to see if you are filtered in Amethyst for me. Surely it requires more than one report. If not that sounds like something I might bring up to the dev.
I use three different clients, depending on what device i am using, so i donāt know atm.

Gossip is a pretty clean prog if you can use PC. Donāt think it does much to your feed.
I agree, thatās not how it should work. But I told the Amethyst dev and he didnāt care.

Iām working on a client too, btw. Not sure if itāll ever be usable, but iāll put a switch for spam filtering, and itāll be opt-in, not opt-out, in your honor. ā¤ļø
