This is a good example of lacking tech in the bitcoin space - users needing to think about utxo consolidation
Imagine you have 1000x10$ bills instead of 100x100$bills and you can buy less with the former?
Agreed, this is a bug, not something to be complacently accepted like
"yeah of course you should've managed your UTXO's better dumbass"
Sure, we need to be as educated as possible on this stuff but i see this as one of the many threats to Bitcoins downfall if a solution isn't found.
