This sums up my experience with middle management when I worked for one of the largest entertainment companies in the world.

They wanted to keep you exactly where you were because you were continually solving a problem that they should have been trying to solve themselves.

I finally realized they didn’t get to capitalize on my skill, talent, and energy anymore.
