My typical design process:

1. Make something decent looking

2. Realize you have to add a bunch more stuff to it

3. Re-do the whole thing accommodating that other stuff

4. Realize it's getting ugly

5. Try to make it nice again

6. Realize there's a lot more stuff to add

7. Try to add that stuff without butchering the overall design system

That’s never the case for me. V2 and beyond puts v1 to shame

Maybe my approach is different.

Most of the time when I add something on a design, is for adding features, those might not be included in the prototype, therefore not necessarily needed even after the prototype is done if I take it to another direction.

Maybe a realistic example could help see the difference. 🤔
