Why do you think it hasn't been?
I used to go straight to nostr:npub1us9uc0sjjg0vyvh7vefgu2a96hx5up5gujl6pqays65hlk4de6hsnwq4g0 before nostr which was crazy to me when I noticed myself doing it
but that shows you how powerful it could be if clients implemented it and made it interoperable with one another π₯

idk I think some might think itβs too hard, others not even a priority or in their line of sight. But maybe thereβs one or two that are considering it or even working on it hopefully idk letβs hope
