The wood one you have is a fairly typical size which I have always thought too small for my own purposes 😂 but I do color changes all the time and need it to hold at least two balls or skeins of different yarn (sometimes even more).

I’ve got a goal of making my own since I do pottery as well 😂 just haven’t gotten to it yet, but I could make it basically the way I like
