I am constantly blown away by how groundbreaking TOS was. In the era of Jim Crow, Dr. Richard Daystrom was a Black man with an understanding of computers, far beyond even Spock.

He was unquestionably capable and demanding of respect. And his name followed computing in Trek forever after.
