Mate, I don't mind culture evolving but for her to say she likes living in London because it's like India!!! That irks me

And how much of India is influenced by British culture?
I wonder if they drink tea over there…
Indeed, I get that. I don't like the erosion of values, of language, of culture. I feel like a foreigner in an area that my family has lived for literal centuries
I understand that but I also wonder how a lot of Indians felt 200 years ago when we decided we liked tea and curry.
The biggest threat to British culture is from America, McDonalds, Coke, Crack, Nukes, Facebook, Rock N Roll, sugar in everything etc etc.
To be honest I’m beyond worrying about it, the whole world is a massive mix of culture, especially post internet.
I largely agree. The thing is the sins of our fathers should not be meted out on us. This is not a dig at Indians. Although they are in the clip. You are quite right with regards to the Golden Arches and the Americanisation of the west. That said, if I were to emigrate to a country which spoke a different language and was largely different from my home country, firstly I wouldn't be on video saying I like it because it is the same as where I came from. Secondly I would want to integrate, to be accepted, knowing I would always be that English guy who moved here but hopefully followed by but he's ok
