Users don't need Instagram, WhatsApp, or LinkedIn. They need fun, family and friends, and work contacts. They couldn't care less which apps or brands are providing those experiences. They will use whatever the target community uses. App brands are simply a shortcut to describe specifically what they want to do. The best apps simply help define and polish that desire further.
