I don’t think it’s because they don’t want to be free, I think it is rather because they are too distracted by all the noise in their lives to realize the prison in which they are trapped. To blame the individual is to potentially ignore or understate the fact that the Fiat system is remarkably good and practiced at keeping people distracted. The narrative that Bitcoin isn’t primarily about freedom and instead is mostly just about making you more Fiat is absolutely brilliant in this regard. Misdirection at its very best indeed.

The good news is that while it’s true that some scary proportion will prefer their fiat prison over self sovereignty, once people actually taste true freedom, there are few who can ever go back.

Bitcoin provides not only a way out of fiat, but a way out of the matrix itself (to borrow from that tired analogy once more).
