This seems to be the issue with California politics in general. I’ve lived here for over 20 years and the nonsensical policies started to make sense when you see these empty suits like Gavin Newsom and DEI hustlers pilfering billions of dollars of tax payer money and enriching themselves in the process.

It definitely make sense through the lens of the state being run by what amounts to a criminal cartel. I really enjoyed Murray Rothbards writings on the nature of the State.

100%. And the basically one party system that runs this state has created a culture of complete lack of accountability. Nothing changes in a positive direction until there is a massive disaster.
