A young man walked into a temple and meekly approached a monk.

“How do I get rid of my regrets about the past? How do I let go of what happened to me”

The monk looks at him for a moment and smiles.

“Realize that the past no longer even exists, it only lives in your mind”

Unless you own a DeLorean*

Wrong

The past lives on forever (eg if you did physical work w/o taking care of your back you'll suffer for ever..

Or if you once betrayed someone they might have trust issues etc for the rest of their lives

Past mistakes like WW2 still haunt us today

...)

The only way back is DOING whatever you can to make up for past mistakes even if some can never be reversed

Hi peruvian bull nice to meet you 🤝 Wise words. The past is like a dream we insist on reliving, but in reality, the only place it exists is in our thoughts. True freedom comes when we stop carrying what time has already erased.

I have certainly felt this way. Within that, I did find new awareness that my upbringing did not teach me. It was a very dark and rough road for a duration that I am unable to calculate. It never fully goes away. I’m learning how to integrate instead.
