If it was actually full of people and activity (and no smog), I wonder if we’d be so critical of it. At first glance, it looks a lot like the real Paris.

That is the criticism, it's just a copy. Paris buildings are beautiful and unique. China can copy it easily but can they make their own beautiful buildings in their own style

This is parody tho, Vegas is being ironic. The entire city isn't a knock off of somewhere else.
