I’m saying they were never flashpoints because geo-politically there is no reason for any large scale alignment into “sides”. Why would the west side with Ukraine?

I'm not sure about an "axis of evil". Evil is a religious term (yes I know that's controversial). Good, evil, or right, wrong are abstract movable cultural concepts.
What is happening is wealth and power are moving from the west to the east and as the west fails, so the underdog has less to loose and could start a fight once it senses failure.

My country, the UK "created" Israel through the Balfour Declaration. It's hard to admit your wrong, even if it's a generation or two later.
The UK, however, is no longer aligned with Europe.

Absolutely! My simple point was that WW3 just ain’t happening irrespective of whatever happens at the 3 flashpoints you mentioned, because Europe just ain’t interested in the mess the US has created. And the US ain’t interested in siding with Europe on Ukraine
