With default settings you are using syncthing's default Discovery Server for peer discovery and NAT transversal.
Using it will leak network metadata to syncthing org.
You would be better off Disabling NAT transversal and Global Discovery and just syncing on your local discovery. It will only work on your LAN but the tradeoff is worth it IMO.
This is why I specifically said default settings 😃 changing this was something I wanted to do right away but as time went on didn't get back to it.
Thanks for and ng this, when i moved off default, i ended up having horrible intermittent issues of the laptop and phone ever seeing each other. Felt like theyd brick their product if u dont give up metadata
That's very strange. Are both devices on the same LAN and can they ping eachother?
