Are you not concerned with the regulatory/compliance risk of operating a mint? I’m sure you’ve gotten this question before, so any links etc are appreciated.

I would not want that target on my back 😂 but maybe there is some aspect I am not considering.

Yeah fedimint and others are working towards this. For now it’s heavily centralized and subject to AML compliance but soon after the Feds start targeting cashu devs the upgrade begins…

I haven't got a chance to use this yet. Are there services/ways to access (thru someone else running a LN node?) Cashu if you aren't running LN node?

Yes, you can play around with mints that people are running or experiment with your own. Try nutshell with fakewallet!

nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8 do you have a tutorial for this? I only see LNbits cashu one.

Are there any incentives to keep a mint honest? For example, if a mint charged a small fee per day or month it incentivizes them to not rug their users since they’d lose revenue.

Are there other ways? Forced transfer to a random mint at random intervals?

We're working on fees! Most mints will have fees because it's the best form of DoS protection.

There is a way to force regular bank runs on the mint that help with proof of liabilities, but we're still early with this: https://gist.github.com/callebtc/ed5228d1d8cbaade0104db5d1cf63939

Great stuff, thank you for all the hard work!

AND IT IS FUCKING FUN AS SHIT!
