Manufacturing and general labour jobs used to be really well paid when I was starting out. Saturday time and a half, Sunday double time... You could get work with a quick fone call to some agencies and start the next day.. somehow that all has gone and they imported cheap labour to replace everyone too. No choice but to give up sock making.
