I am in favor of American federalism, but against European federalism.
The reason is simple: America is unified by one common American culture, while Europe is divided up into a few dozen sovereign nations with different cultures that are at odds with each other.
Trying to unify Europe, especially after they have been fighting one another for thousands of years, is unworkable.
Without the ability to issue their own currency (tax the citizens without friction) the nation state as we know it will end. To collect revenue I believe the mask will come off and the people will see they have been living under war lords the entire time.
Americans also fight with each other, but nothing worth a Civil War.
Southern California & South Florida are highly different from their northern parts. And that’s only the beginning of culture differences here in America.😂😂
Texas would prefer to be its own country too.
They only fight each other when there is a shift in the American culture.
In Europe, however, there are wars between nation states and civil wars when the individual nation's cultures shift.
