Are transaction fees also higher on the lightning network or do they remain unaffected?

They should remain unaffected if they’re lightning transactions. Although, I learned today that Muun’s implementation entails some on-chain activity via submarine swaps, so that complicates things.

Lightning fees are unaffected if you use a custodial wallet like Wallet of Satoshi, or if you already have your own channels open on your Umbrel node or on Phoenix or Blixt wallet on mobile for example.
Opening and closing channels is much more expensive than usual right now
