Amethyst uses just your relays to search for followers. Nostr band tries to find followers in all available relays (1000s of relays)

I actually think it is possible (over wifi). It just needs some top notch engineering.

Yes over wifi, but it will eat your mobile quota. I have unlimited, but not many people here do
