I think that serial killers were less common, which is why they were more sensationalized. Plus, you had women mostly at home looking for shit to do instead of joining the workforce because jews said so, and they wanted entertainment. I'm not entirely sure. Maybe such things have become so common they're not worth mentioning anymore.
