Haha that’s debatable. Value falls to the marginal cost of production. Chinese governments who enslave children and Uighur Muslims aren’t making the least among them more wealthy. And I don’t want poor and hungry individuals anywhere. But who do you want to control America’s economy and, really, national security (steel, API for pharmaceuticals, etc)? I work with Americans week in and week out that can’t afford to feed a family real food on a blue collar job. They don’t know why their health is failing at 35 years of age and the thought of buying a home is something of dreams. There will always be poverty no matter where you move jobs. But I’ll be damned if I advocate for another country taking American’s jobs so that corporations profit.

Here’s those Chinese people you think are so much better off now.

p China is run by evil people for sure but they would be even worse off without Walmart who lifted hundreds of millions of them out of poverty

Children and Uighur Muslims would be better off without them. That’s not an argument against tariffs serving the American people more than another country with a communist/dictatorial leaning.
