Short of it is I brought up how the algos on social media are designed to manipulate us, told it was a conspiracy theory, and proceeded to give them a 5-min monologue on the history of government propaganda and surveillance while pretty much everyone looked at me like I was a weirdo.
wow - i thought the social media algo manipulation was common knowledge at this point
