I despise the concept and practice of "national teams" in sports, at all levels.

Well, with team sports, yes, I hate it but I guess I could rationalize it because making up a team based on such an arbitrary elegibility criterion as one's citizenship is absurd, but not too far from a regular professional club/team.

With individual sports, I find competing under a "national" flag outright disgusting.
