This is correct. You can't technically delete an "account". You can request all of your notes and events be deleted and your and throw away your private key and never use it again. That's it.

I did request it via the delete button, and where I typed in DELETE, yet I can still see what I posted

in fact, I could still post and receive responses on a 'deleted' account

are you in Oslo now?

Yes, that's correct. There is not true delete here on Nostr. Basically, it's too decentralized and too censorship resistant to delete.

No I am not in Oslo.
