Inspiration strikes at the most unexpected times. In hindsight it seems so simple.

It always does

We were under the impression that giant social media companies had our best interests at heart.

It's like Bitcoin. The technology already existed, just the incentives weren't strong enough and now they are.

+1 to incentives. And bitcoin is a huge part of what created the incentive.

Network protocol developers are in short supply, and the problem of social media capture had never quite been acute enough until Twitter went berzerk.

Actually internet started this way. Then came the telephone companies charging us per minute use of internet over phone lines and to reduce costs things had to be centralized and webed 1.0

We needed to believe in people being willing to use cryptographic keys as a password replacement. I’m very surprised about the amount of nostrians using a private/pubkey key pair like it’s so easy. Not too long ago you needed Linux CLI skills!

We were living in the fiat standard back then. πŸŠπŸ’Šβš‘οΈ
