hmm.. Seems I got a bug. Every time I reopened the app, the public channel is back. 😥
I think you need latest Amethyst which I believe isn't on the Play Store yet

Okay, I will try the git release then.
Something is wrong with new install. Now I can't start app. Shuts down at start. Reinstalled but nothing works. What can be issue?
Switching between APK and PlayStore? Make sure to delete your local cache. Settings/Apps/Amethyst, click clear storage and clear cache.
