Monero isn’t going to separate money and state. It’s just not. They picked the wrong trade offs because of their fetishisation of privacy rather than correctly ranking where it goes in the hierarchy of needs for something that COULD separate money and state.

Sure. But that’s like directing all your energy toward building the best fireworks ever when your actual goal is travelling to Mars - you’ve aimed for the wrong fucking thing entirely and even if your fireworks are amazing and blow the whole world away, you’re never getting to Mars with them.

I think you'll find most of them don't care about that, different goals.
Use a simpler argument to them, if they are up to illegal activity that is going to put them in a cage or get them killed, then they don't want a public ledger of every transaction.
They already have something for that that they all use with no record, quite a few other mediums as well with no network to trace.
