i had called the #intelligenceservice sociopaths and this book appears in a shared box for staff. They know i look in the box because i'm watched closely every minute at work.
The book was a good read. Curiously it starts with the assertion that the #intelligenceservice ( #Circus ) agents actually care and have human feelings and hearts but ends with a guy that is humourously called 'Smiley' ( an allusion to smiling sociopaths -- funny) saying he made all those sacrifices of other peoples' lives for the misplaced "greater pity" for 'Europe'.
I think it was #Kant that said, "people are *not* a means to an end but an *end in themselves*.
And this 1984, 'the party is all that matters' where super-concepts like 'nation' and 'Europe' that only exist as marks on a map and written characters on a page are given as excuses so others, not their own #Eton necks, are sacrificed for 'the greater good' is complete Oxybridge elitist tosh.
"Those who believe, fight in the path of the God. Those who disbelieve fight in the path of authoritarians (those who exceed the limits)..." ( #Quran, 4:76)
The fight in "the God's" ( "al-ilah", "#Allah") path puts people first and at the centre.
