Gen X got bad lead exposure and they are essentially the retarded generation
Gen X here. We are the last generation born outside The Matrix.
Latchkey children.
We got sucked in like everyone else.
But we remember:
- playing outside, going in adventures with our friend, lakes rivers forest
- riding our bikes all day getting lost not coming back until sundown
- tv literally had to make a commercial “it’s 10pm do you know where your children are?”
- hanging out at the mall was cool
- cars with no seatbelts
- we got into fight, fell off bikes, broke our bones
- having to remember your moms and your girlfriends/ boyfriends phone numbers
- and you better have a quarter for the phone
- we owned our record and tapes and CD music collections it was cool
- it was always a threat that your mom could be listening on the other phone on the house
- you had to actually talk to someone face to face to get a date , no tinder
- free internet porn wasn’t crushing male sex drives and testosterone
- young people actually had sex just like your body is raging to do
- social media wasn’t sucking our attention and souls
We had youths
These children now are incubated.

I’m a millennial (born 1988) and my childhood was exactly as you described. First touched a computer without internet at age 10, got my own at age 14 and a cell phone at age 17. The “benefit” of being born in a post-communist country is that we got all the cool toys westerners had 10 years later.
Dont forget about the fireworks, random plants used as tobacco, building shelters in the woods, bombing neighbours with waterballons, creating parody out of everything and having fun with boredom and idioty. Im pretty sure its still a thing, Not only in a specific generation. Interesting fact that WE all are still alive. 😂🤪
I'm a millennial but don't worry, leaded gasoline wasn't outlawed until 2007 here so my generation got plenty of lead exposure young too don't worry about that.
Fortunately for me I grew up in a rural area, but I got exposed to farm chemicals to make up for the lack of lead in the air.

Also, children still ride bikes and go outside.
At least where I live, any day of the week there will be dozens of children playing at the park and dozens more at the skatepark riding their bikes and skateboards.
My town doesn't have a mall but a few hours drive north there a small city with a large shopping mall and you'll see plenty of kids hanging out in the food court.

And unfortunately, the kids today still have lead in their diets, all those cheap flavoured vapes are full of lead, one puff is about as much as a full pack of cigarettes from what I've read, regarding almost every disposable flavoured vape brand.
So all them kids sucking on vapes will make themselves retarded the same way that a Gen X who grew up in the city is from all the leaded gasoline pollution they breathed
