It's weird watching two sides form about why the US is slowly downgrading as the world's super power.

One side says it's due to globohomo, etc. etc.

The other side is saying it's due to the US not wanting to patrol the waters as it used to after WW2 and doesn't want to maintain the global order anymore (artificially) as it has been.

Based on what I can gather, while there's some merit to the former, the latter is more prevalent and COVID only enhanced that due to how it affected our supply chains.

Regardless, inevitably by 2030 the world is going back to regional blocs and the US is going to stop using its massive naval force to protect commerce on the seas and as a result, it's going to shrink it's influence over the national security policy of Europe, The Middle East, etc, and now....many partners in that instance will be on there own.

So, have fun with that.

All dying empires end up at this same corner.

>We can just fund the military harder, our influence will continue just as always.

And its not wrong, but its a cycle of ever diminishing returns, eventually the whole thing still collapses anyway.
