So for now i think i've settled on these little watering ports for the chickens. I like them because you can use them with any size container, from very small all the way up to large trash can size. In the summer i'm always concerned about the chickens having plenty of water, so i put 2 of the five gallon buckets in the run, with 2 ports each. This way i can go a good while without having to refill them. The young chicks are set now, and i'll probably do this for the older chickens too. #chickens #grownostr #homesteading

Bookmarked! We’re about to build our first chicken coop and hopefully welcome some chicks at the end of Summer! Need all the tips!

You will love having chickens, and there's nothing better than gathering your own eggs from your own chickens.

I've never tried the water ports like those in the image. I have had really good luck using the watering nipples. Chickens around 4-6 weeks can start using them and the nipple lasts about 1-2 years in a 5 gallon bucket before I exposure ruins the o ring seal. Nice set up. I love chickens

Nice, i havent tried the nipples, although my husband uses nipples for the rabbit waterers.

This is what I use for my ducks, don’t have to refill.
