Hopefully talking about it will help push the idea forward and help those within bluesky who are potentially advocating for it to happen.
Truely unique or novel ideas aren’t actually very useful, turns out that if you’re really unique then the idea isn’t going to gain traction. What we need is ideas that can circulate and bubble up in many places at the same time.
The steam engine was developed by ancient Greeks living in what is now Egypt. The thing is, the other stuff needed for it to spread from prototype to deployment weren’t there, in terms of socially, politically, intellectually and technologically.
Even twitter wasn’t actually unique when we created it. Instead it was a recombination of many ideas in a slightly different way that caught on.
