Dasius, a Roman soldier during Emperor Diocletian's reign, was chosen by lot to participate in the pagan festival of Saturnalia. A devout Christian, Dasius refused to partake in the sacrilegious acts. He openly declared his faith in Christ, choosing martyrdom over idolatry. For his steadfast belief, he was beheaded on November 20, 303 AD.
