One would hope so, though I zoomed in on the center and found this
It looks like it's something in the detection. If this was atmosperic effect, it would be:
1) quite stunning image from all around
2) evolve quite dramatically and turbulently
in the age of mobile phones and soc. media, you'd see a lot of evidence
I lean towards agreeing with you - I would like an explanation for when these oddities occur from the company or place where they source their data from
