So I don't know if this would be helpful to anybody, but I think this goes along with a Foss or a self-host Friday. But you may or may not be aware that there is a service called 12-foot ladder out there that bypasses paywalls and lately it has got an extremely restrictive on the sites that it will bypass for you as well as consistently being down due to legal reasons I guess.
But I just found out that there is a self-hosted version called Ladder that you can easily spin up in a Docker container and locally host. I haven't tested it super extensively, but so far I've gotten it to bypass financial times and New York Times paywalls.
