Are you in favor of a more synthetic engagement system (algorithms), a organic engagement system (no algorithm) or a combination of both?

From my perspective a combination of the two, for example I normally use clients that don't have algorithms, but when I don't visit nostr for a while, I feel like I'm not finding out what's going on, and then I use primal for example to try to see what has been happening without getting lost scrolling through my feed. I also use @nossence curator and similars. Also looking forward to know more about the algo script from nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s

Synthetic with ability to search and control the knobs on the algorithm

I really liked the Twitter algorithm, a year back. It was great for discovery and added a nice dose of serendipity, which is why I use global more than the Home Feed here 😝

Also, right now Nostr has a short-term memory & algos can help re-surface older notes that are interesting + notes from various timezones

Organic day to day. Occasional algo glance to see what interesting things I may have missed.

The end user should be informed about the expected outcome, and an impartial source should be able to verify whether the expectation is being met. Algorithms on nostr need to be at least as open sourced as twitter.

Personally, I value having control over who enters my home. I don't want anyone else's rankings, whether they are from my friends or based on how a client, server, or centralized service ranks individuals, to influence who can enter my home. I believe there should be filters available for both inside and outside my home, and I prefer these filters to be specific and concrete. When I'm told that I'm viewing my entire house, I expect to see the complete view without any omissions (this should include looking at what relays my followees are on and getting their content from there).

I'm not interested in knowing what occurred at a bar last night if I wasn't present there. It would be strange for me to spend my time at the bar tonight catching up on events from the previous night. Besides, when it comes to web sockets, I want to engage in live gameplay, not compete against .io bots.

Every client should take a different approach and we see which does it better
