Perfect is the enemy of good.
We have more users today than last week. That’s good. They have a lot to learn, that’s also good. It’s not perfect, but it’s a meaningful step in the right direction.
Nostr is frowning no matter of what!
These new nostr users are becoming new bitcoin users, and the coupling between these two plus lightning has too much friction for fluid use. We can’t scale these systems trustlessly, or even trust minimized, without better tooling & need - which may not be here for another year or more.
So you want me to tell these ladies to go build a server to host their own Lightning addresses? 🤣 Brother I love you, I do, but these are just things that aren't going to happen. Yet. It's called baby steps. We'll get there. Step one is sending from your non-custodial to self-custodial. 🤙🏻
Yeah you can tell them to downaload phoenix, Breez and just post invoices like we did a few months ago or they can zap via few clicks
not about sending zaps.. still need custodial for receiving zaps tho.. and literally nobody is diving into lightning node without clear incentive.. it's a long learning process
