- use shrink heating tube w a lighter
- buy Nylon cable
- buy Nylon cable, w lifelong guarantee
segru clay is some funny polymer shit? does it need to be heated or does it just oxidise to rubbery after you open it?

well, it's probably gonna help at the ends of the cable at least but you'll fuck up the rest of the cable now afterwards... nylon ftw
