I put nothing but black oil sunflower in my feeders and the red bellied woodpeckers are there all day. Cardinals, wrens & tufted titmouse too. :)

I've been watching red-bellied woodpeckers (Melanerpes carolinus) in my backyard for years and I've never seen them leave a bird feeder with anything but a peanut.
