Bloody Benders

The Bender family—John Sr., Elvira, John Jr., and Kate—ran an inn in 1870s Kansas, killing at least 8-11 travelers by bludgeoning them from behind a curtain and slitting throats in a cellar. They targeted wealthy passersby on the Osage Trail, vanishing before capture and leaving bodies on their property. Contemporary accounts link them to the later Kelly Family, suggesting the same group continued murders in Oklahoma.[wikipedia +3]
