I like the XMR guys.

They mostly agree that crypto is dumb, they want to maximize freedom, and they also ditched fiat currency.

I like the moral conviction about privacy and I think the pressure has done a lot to help develop better BTC privacy tools.

Without them I couldn’t have turned my idle CPU cycle into BTC by selling XMR hashrate to stack more data these past years.

I also like being richer than my friends, so that’s also a plus.

XMR guys are friends.

Selling XMR hashrate? How does that work?

nicehash.com for example

You won't get rich by mining monero, but you will contribute to the network's privacy and anonymity and decentralisation

Exactly. The more people, the better. It's almost like herd immunity.

But how much can I make? Lol

probably enough to offset electricity costs! 😀

Hey now

most Monero bros are also holding Bitcoin.

But please say a prayer for the Monero only Maxis. They are still surviving on Cup Noodles.

I did, never again.

you quit holding Bitcoin?

why?

I see value in utility, and because I don't see any utility in Bitcoin today and from many years now, I don't see any value in it, I see it useless, worthless, I'm holding Gold Silver Monero

My Monero bro (one of them) is on #nostr but never notes, but he is a programmer with a 2 yro and a 6 yro. His life is co-opted by a spouse who is a bundle of questionable decisions, so I forgive him. Yet, I occasionally say I hope to see him active on #nostr . He is so private that I do not even know his npub.

Monero is awesome. I think the only fault in that Cryptocurrency is its inflationary nature. If only they went with finate amount of XMR it would be perfect

a hard cap is a design flaw that disincentizes MoE.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-rider_problem

Wownero has that.

But as another writer said. A hard cap is a security problem in the future.

The little amount of inflation that does occur only replaces lost coins and incentivizes miners to not charge hundreds of US dollars for fees. I totally ditched Bitcoin back in 2017 when I went to buy a coffee from Starbucks and the fee was double what the coffee cost. That is not a useful MOE currency.

I like your brutal honesty, as one of those "XMR guys" 😂
